Memento Mori Resources

If you really want to immerse yourself now in realising the real value of life, and give yourself the gift of Memento Mori to dramatically influence your thoughts and action, I can think of no better way than to start reading this list of thought-provoking, truly life-changing books.
I’ll be putting together a list of Memento Mori movies & documentaries here on the site as well- and until then, while giving great food for thought – movies & documentaries due to their length, do not allow you to immerse yourself in one angle of memento mori for days, weeks or perhaps even months – and that’s what we’re after here – to bring lasting focus and meaning to every one of your days until you have no more.
Videos & movies are also much harder to make notes on and return to those notes & passages that moved you most perhaps a few years later.
Here’s where I think you should start:

When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi
A powerful first-hand account of dying from cancer through the eyes of a young neurosurgeon with a focus on realising what really matters in life.
Happy by Derren Brown
Especially the last section which contains stimulating questions about how we choose to live and the way we think about death.
Letters from a Stoic by Seneca
Especially the chapter “on the shortness of life”.
